AS2 adapter and File adapter

Hi,

To handle EDI documents we can either use File adapter or AS2 adapter, here I want to know what will be differences if we use AS2 and if we use File adapter. Tracking the status and dealing with functional acknowledgement will all be same if we use File adapter instead of AS2. and want to know in what cases we go for File adapter instead of AS2 adapter.
